Termina la aventura de Oyono en el Europeo sub’17

Igor Oyono’s journey with the Spanish national team in the U17 European Championship in Cyprus has come to an end. Coached by Hernán Pérez, the team suffered a 3-1 defeat against England, marking their third loss in the tournament. Oyono started in the final group stage match but was substituted in the 63rd minute.

The Athletic forward’s involvement in the tournament increased over time. Initially benched in the opener against Portugal, he came on as a substitute in the second game against France, playing the last half-hour. These minutes would have helped Oyono end the season on a positive note after facing challenges following his transfer from Villarreal to Bilbao. He was unable to play until late April with Athletic’s youth team due to issues with his registration from Villarreal. As summer approaches, Oyono will have time to recharge and decide which team in Lezama he will play for next season.
