AS Monaco legend Jean-Luc Ettori is Athletic Club's 2026 One-Club Man. The French goalkeeper spent 19 years of his career (1975 and 1994), playing in goal for AS Monaco, one of French football's most iconic clubs. Etorri made no fewer than 755 appearances wearing the ‘Rouge et Blanc’ shirt. Ettori succeeds Jamie Carragher as the winner of Athletic Club's most prestigious award, joining a list of previous winners which includes: Matthew Le Tissier (Southampton FC), Paolo Maldini (AC Milan), Sepp Maier (FC Bayern Munich), Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona), Billy McNeill (Celtic FC), Ryan Giggs (Manchester United FC), Ricardo Enrique Bochini (CA Independiente de Avellaneda), João Pinto (FC Porto), Giuseppe Bergomi (FC Internazionale de Milan) and the aforementioned Jamie Carragher (Liverpool FC)—all names that have made significant contributions to football. Jean-Luc Ettori will receive the trophy and a well-deserved ovation at San Mames before Athletic Club vs Real Madrid on the weekend of 6 December (date and kick-off time to be confirmed).
